slavery was permited in missouri after much debate and hardships then maine was admitted as a free state

both states wer allowed to decide the slavery issue betwixt themselfs

the act served to repeal the missouri compromise of 1820 which prohibated slavery above 36' 30'

the south strongly supported the free state choices

new mexico and utah free state

 california was admited as free state

new mexico and utah would decide the slavery issue in there own  states

after licoln was elected as president the south succeeded and became c.o.a which means confederate states of america and from there the south and the north tensions became tight as ever could be
